Emily Dickinson’s house is open for visitors daily. The Amherst History Museum, and the Museum of Natural History on the Amherst College campus are all open to the public.

Amherst is also home to a municipal golf course, two public swimming pools, miles of paved bike paths, and hiking trails connecting to the State Park.
